Description:
The application, in real time, receives a signal from the microphone, modifies it in accordance with personal settings and plays the changed signal through wired headphones or a headset (headphones with a microphone), thereby compensating for the user's hearing loss.
Sound correction occurs in two stages:
• at the first stage, dynamic compression of the audio signal occurs (dynamic amplification or suppression of the signal level in accordance with the current acoustic situation);
• at the second stage, an individual correction filter is used that is separate for the right and left ear, based on the user’s audiogram data.
To improve sound quality, the application implements automatic gain control and the presence of acoustic feedback in the sound path.
The minimum possible time delay between the input and output audio signal is ensured by the fact that the computing core of the application is developed in low-level programming languages using optimized data processing and transmission algorithms.
Features:
The application interface language: Russian and English, is installed automatically, depending on the system settings.
The operating mode of the application is possible only when connected to an Android device, a wired headset or headphones.
All personal user settings are saved in the device’s local profiles.
A profile is a data structure in which amplifier settings are defined, audiograms for the left and right ear, type of correction filter, and additional features for managing sound quality are defined.
The application gives you the opportunity to get advice on its use, track the ratio of signal spectra, send a private message to the developer.

The application can run both in active and in the background.
When working in the background, the application does not perform unnecessary calculations, so its power consumption in this case is minimized.
Switching between profiles, for example, when changing the acoustic environment, can be done by the user without stopping the operating mode.
In addition, it is possible to automatically start the operating mode, immediately when connecting headphones or a headset.
The sound corrector provides the ability to control the delay / quality ratio by selecting the number of FFT points.
The user’s audiogram can be created in the application by testing the hearing, and recorded on the basis of specialized diagnostic data available to the user.
The audiogram settings panel corresponds to the type of diagnostic card adopted in the Russian audiology.
Setting sound compression parameters to match the current acoustic environment is possible in the operating mode. In this case, the configuration process will be visual.
When you connect a wired device, the application will automatically determine its type.
When using a wired headset, the following features will additionally appear:
• choice of sound source: microphone of the device or headset;
• operating mode control: turning the operating mode on and off.
hlCorr has a minimum size for download and deployment among similar applications.
